If your home is feeling draughty when the heating is on and you find that you are having to have the heating on for long periods of time whilst turning up the temperature and your home not feeling warm for long periods of time for the hot air to be escaping through the walls, attic and windows of your home due to poor insulation.
If this is the case for you, the it is certainly is time to look at how a free home energy insulation grant can help you.
What Is A Home Insulation Grant?
As part of the government’s energy efficiency scheme, ECO (Energy Company Obligation) is aimed at helping people to improve the energy efficiency of their home and reduce fuel poverty throughout the UK, whilst helping home to improve their EPC rating of D-G bands to become a C rating, more energy efficient and cheaper to run.
Through the Government’s ECO4 scheme, eligible householders AND tenants across the UK can now access a more efficient and warmer home with home insulation.
A Home Insulation Grant is a non-repayable free or subsidised central heating system. This is part of the Government (ECO) Scheme set up to help with home improvements for low-income households. It provides qualifying homeowners with access to improving home efficiency in order to reduce the cost of energy bills, as well as carbon footprints when heating their homes.
The amount of the grant is decided by how efficient your home is and is determined by an energy assessment. In some cases, a small contribution may be required.
Heating and cooling of your home account for 50 to 70% of the energy used in the average home but poor insulation and air leakage simply waste energy that you are paying for!
